- The worst thing you can do is allow your wires to hang out of your car because the insulation will wear and your battery clips will break from the strain on the wires. Use zip ties to bundle all of your wires together. You can also wrap your battery in duct tape so that it is protected even if it accidentally scrapes the ground.
- Not all tracks will allow you to use pump hairspray on your tires, but it is a great way to get a little extra traction. You will want to do this before each race. To prevent the chipping you need some silicone so you can spread it under the body of your car. You can also use tape on the body of your car to prevent cracking. Both methods add extra weight, but prevent a lot of damage from occurring.
- Always look at your tires for correct wear patterns. If you notice that one tire isn’t wearing properly that means it is not touching the ground as often as the other tires. You want all tires on the ground all of the time because you get more traction that way.
